Static City Games is a video game developer and indie publisher out of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.


Early history

Static City Games originally started in the living room of Josh's house in the summer of 2016. With a passion to learn and improve, Josh went from opening a game engine for the first time to releasing his first game on Steam Early Access in September of 2017. Along the way, Josh used the moniker, "Krassenstein", to broadcast his game development journey on

Solo Development

Josh started working on Knightfall in September of 2016, Static City's first IP. Knightfall released into Steam Early Access on September 4th, 2017. Static City's sophomore IP, Life & Debt: A Real Life Simulator released on February 28th, 2018, following a successful and rewarding game jam where the game was conceptualized and demoed in 72 hours. Static City Games is set to release Chronicle: Unit Eight on March 16th, 2020.

A Team Environment

Around late 2019, a new game was being conceptualized originally as a tutorial for YouTube. Fast forward four months and a partnership with Vampiric Games, Chronicle: Unit Eight - a 2D top-down bullethell roguelike where you can destroy enemy's bullets, released to Steam Early Access on March 16th, 2020.

Following the release of Chronicle: Unit Eight (which is slotted for a November release out of Early Access), Josh had a dream where he conceptualized, prototyped, developed, and published a puzzle game in a short 2 week timespan. 14 days later, "stopDrop." was commercially released to on July 10, 2020.

Static City Games is now a team of 5 and has 4 active projects.
